Chef Knife Forging Class
In this chef knife forging class, ButterHog Forge will help you forge a chef knife with a blade length of 5-10". You control the shape and over all design of the knife. We will forge, heat treat, grind and add a wooden handle with pins. This class takes around 8 hours to complete but can go longer with more people or if you want to try your own grinding. You can also split the class up into two separate days, the days do not have to be consecutive.
No experience is necessary. Ages 9 on up. This class will require some physical strength to swing a hammer hard enough to move steel. its very similar to a workout. This is a one on one class unless you bring family and friends. Max of 4 participants. Cost is $275 per person. We will be using 5160 steel and whatever dense or stabilized wood I have on hand. These are full tang knives, no hidden tangs in class. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes! No shorts or sandals!!
