Damascus Knife Forging Classes
In this class, ButterHog Forge will help you forge a hunting knife with a Damascus blade length of 3-8" or a chef knife with an 5-10" Damascus blade. You control the shape and overall design of the knife. We will forge, heat treat, grind and add a wooden handle with pins. This Damascus knife forging class takes around 10 hours to complete but can go longer with more people or if you want to try your own grinding. You can also split the class up into two separate days, the days do not have to be consecutive. No experience is necessary.
It's very similar to a workout. This is a one on one class unless you bring family and friends. Max of 4 participants. Cost is $400 per person. We will be using 1095 and 15n20. I will have already forged a low layer Damascus billet to start the class with. We will use whatever dense or stabilized wood I have on hand. These are full tang knives. No hidden tangs or guards in class. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes! No shorts or sandals!!
